Ministries of AMIKO

A. Ministry of Serving

[“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.“] Matt. 20:28 NIV

Two millenniums ago, Jesus himself came down to Israel.

Our Lord King Jesus told His disciples that He did not come to the world to be served,

but instead, He came to serve and to love His people.

Through VIA-Israel, the volunteers hope to follow His footsteps.

As our Lord Jesus had shown us how to serve with His very own life,

we are here to serve the disadvantaged/disabled as they are desperate for the love of Christ.

By washing people’s wounded hands and feet, we want to become the channel to serve God’s people.

The purpose of serving in VIA-Israel is not about travelling/living in Israel,

adding a line in their resumes, experiencing foreign cultures, and learning foreign languages;

it is all about helping others who are in great need.

The effort volunteers put into will make people joyful, and most of all, it will make God pleased.

B. Ministry of Serving

By sharing the good news to the poor, healing the sick, and proclaiming freedom to the enslaved,

the volunteers will provide comfort to lifelong pain and sorrow with warm encouragement

and simple yet affable Hebrew greetings.

There are people, neglected for ages, having trouble with physical and mental pains.

With the volunteers’ warm helping hand, they will be comforted,

and volunteers will be there to share the grief with them.

The volunteers will be the channel to comfort the disabled.

[“Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.”] Isaiah 40:1 NIV

God is ordering us to comfort His people.

C. Ministry of Loving/Caring Israel

VIA-Israel will send out the volunteers of God to all over Israel;

they will serve the Jews and Palestinians with His love in every facility.

The volunteers will lend out their hands and feet to the disadvantaged/disabled

and will become their dearest friends.

Moreover, they will sincerely pray for those who desperately need new lives and the Gospel.

They will pray for Israel and its people; they will worship for the re-establishment of the Tent of David.

The volunteers will be the channel to share the everlasting truth of Jesus Christ.

D. Ministry of Restoring and Taking Care of Neighbors

[ "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."

Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise.”] Luke 10:36-37 NIV

Through VIA-Israel, the volunteers will be the channel to restore the joy of Israel, serve, and take care of the neighbors.
